Desiree Nelson is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Pulmonary Medicine at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic, A MANA Clinic. Nurse Practitioner Nelson is an experienced nurse who has worked at MANA for several years as an RN.
In the Pulmonary Medicine Department at FDC, Nurse Practitioner Nelson works with the pulmonologists to provide quality, compassionate care. She provides quality care, patient education, and can write prescriptions.
Nelson believes establishing good communication and rapport with patients is key. “I want to get to know you, really listen to your concerns and challenges, and work together to develop health goals to improve your quality of life,” explains Nurse Practitioner Nelson.
Nelson served in the Arkansas Air National Guard as an Air Transportation Specialist before starting her career in healthcare. As a mother and nurse, she has volunteered as the Nurse Chaperone for the Fayetteville High School Marching Band.
Outside the clinic, Nelson loves spending time with her family. Nelson has four awesome children. “We are avid Star Wars and Marvel fans, and enjoy hiking in the beautiful Ozark mountains,” says Nelson. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, especially the mystery genre.
