Julie Brooks, APRN, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Northwest Arkansas Psychiatry.
Nurse Practitioner Brooks will work with the psychiatrists to provide continuation of care and medication management to children and adults.
Nurse Practitioner Brooks became a registered nurse in 2008, began a travel nursing career in 2015, and served as a frontline COVID crisis travel nurse in Texas. She also served at the Western Arkansas Counseling and Guidance Center, Holistic Mental Healthcare, and The Forging Place.
“I have always held the quote ‘Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle,’ close to my heart,” says Nurse Practitioner Brooks. “Throughout my career as a nurse and my time spent as a PMHNP, I have felt as though helping others is not only my career choice but also my calling. Being an advanced practice nurse is not just about assessing, diagnosing, and treating. Patient-centered care conveys my intentions to help and value a patient as a whole person, no matter their cultural beliefs, past experiences, or current problems.”
Julie, her husband, and their two young children live in Northwest Arkansas. They live in the country where they enjoy the outdoors. Julie likes to work in the garden and grows everything from roses to pumpkins.
