Uterine fibroids occur in between 25% to 50% of all women. They are a common type of benign growth that are most common in women aged 30 to 40. For most women, they are small and do not cause any symptoms or problems. However, they can grow and cause issues such as heavy periods, urinary frequency and painful intercourse.
