For the month of May, MANA staff elected Welcome Health as the recipient of the MANA Gives donation. On May 25, 2022, the staff at MANA Urgent Care on Wedington Street presented a check on behalf of the MANA Gives program for $2,300 to Monika Fischer-Massie, Executive Director at Welcome Health.
Welcome Health is a health clinic in Fayetteville that serves the Northwest Arkansas community by providing quality medical care, dental care, prescriptions, and support services to low-income individuals regardless of their ability to pay.
When asked how the donation would be used, Executive Director Monika Fischer-Massie said, “We plan on using this for medical and dental supplies for our clinic.”
In addition to the donation, many MANA staff volunteer their time and expertise at Welcome Health. Dr. James Norys, an Internal Medicine physician at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic, is the volunteer Medical Director for Welcome Health. In addition, several of our nurses and physicians volunteer their time to serve at the clinic and support the health of our community.
Through the MANA Charitable Fund, MANA physicians and staff may choose to auto-draft a donation from their paychecks to the fund. The participating staff members and physicians annually nominate and vote on 12 local health-related non-profits to receive the MANA Gives donations. The charity or non-profit organization must be a 501 (c) (3) organization and fit our mission to improve the health of the Northwest Arkansas Community.
