On Thursday, August 13, 2015 the MANA Charitable Board of Directors presented three allied healthcare students with the Murray T. Harris Allied Healthcare Scholarship. The 2015-2016 recipients are Celeste Rinner, who is enrolled in Imaging Sciences at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock; Wendy Finn, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville; and Sarah Watkins, who is completing her Associate Degree of Nursing at Arkansas Tech University.
The MANA Charitable Board offers the Murray T. Harris Healthcare Scholarship for students in allied health programs in Washington and Benton Counties of Arkansas. Three scholarships are awarded each June. The Scholarship focuses on professions within the healthcare sector that are currently underserved, to help attract qualified candidates in these fields. The scholarship is intended to cover books, fees and similar expenses for students in qualified educational programs.
Allied health programs include, but are not limited to radiology technology, clinical laboratory science, nursing, and respiratory therapy.
The MANA Board would like to thank everyone who applied for the scholarship. There were 19 applications submitted this year who qualified for the scholarship. The three recipients who received the scholarship demonstrated excellence in academics and a commitment to care in Northwest Arkansas.
Scholarship applications for the 2016 – 2017 academic year will be available in January and are due June 1, 2016. More on the Murray T. Harris Scholarship
