A message from our Team Captain

Our Team Captain, Dr. Bobby Pritchett, invites staff, friends, and family to join us for this great event.
“The Hogeye is one of the most fun local races as far as the course design, which believe it or not allows you to go fast,” says Dr. Pritchett. “But also it continues to grow every year. A race that grows is usually put together well and supported by the community heavily.”
I am doing the half marathon for the second year. The course is unique and you run through some of the most beautiful areas of NWA. The time of year of this event is perfect for a runner. The weather is usually ideal, which matters a lot in distance running.
To prepare for the half-marathon, I run all year long but the 14 weeks prior to a race is designed to slowly build and earn your miles to reduce injury. From long slow runs to quick speed runs, all forms of training are involved. I also do a Functional strength program 3-4 days a week which is very important not only in the injury prevention side of training but the performance enhancing side as well.
