MANA ADDS SEVENTH FAMILY MEDICINE CLINIC
Dr. Karl Haws Establishes MANA’s FirstCare Family Doctors Thompson Street
Karl Haws, D.O., and his existing clinic will be joining MANA Medical Associates establishing the group’s seventh FirstCare Family Doctors location at 307 South Thompson Street, Suite A, in Springdale on October 1, 2015. Haws is the 10th physician in 2015 to join MANA Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas.
Haws will continue to provide comprehensive family medical care, wellness exams and disease management to adults and children at his existing location on Thompson Street in Springdale. Haws’ current medical partner, Craig Cooper, D.O., will be retiring at the end of September and will no longer practice medicine at the Thompson Street clinic. Haws has hired a physician assistant, Greg Smith, to work with him to provide acute care and wellness care and is currently recruiting to add another physician to the practice.
Karl Haws has over 20 years of experience practicing family medicine in Springdale. He is a fellow of the American Board of Family Medicine and is on the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. Haws is a doctor of osteopathic medicine, or a DO. According to the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, DOs provide a holistic approach to medical care. Osteopathic physicians are trained to work with the patient from diverse backgrounds to focus on wellness and disease prevention.

As part of the MANA physician group, Haws will have access to practice efficiencies and support staff. His patients will have access to MANA’s certified full service laboratory, state-of-the-art imaging services, and an array of specialists who are part of the MANA network. In addition, MANA provides an administrative support team with a reimbursement department to negotiate with insurance companies and medical billing coding support; an information systems team to coordinate electronic medical records and technical aspects; human resources and expanded employee benefits; and accounting expertise.
Haws’ clinic will be the third MANA FirstCare Family Doctors location in the Springdale area. “I am pleased to have Dr. Karl Haws as a partner,” says Dr. William McGowan of MANA’s FirstCare Family Doctors Springdale located at 1109 West End Street in Springdale. Dr. McGowan has been a family medicine physician in Springdale for 28 years and works with two other physicians, Drs. Bruce DeYoung and Shawn Brown. There is a MANA FirstCare Family Doctors Tontitown at 171 North Maestri Road in Tontitown with Drs. Jonathan Parker and Joshua Rankin. McGowan continues, “there is a need for more primary care clinics and physicians to meet the growing populations’ healthcare needs and our goal is to meet the needs of our community with quality, compassionate healthcare.”
